Jamie Cullum’s World Record
Jamies music lesson was with 2,282 people which set a Guinness world record to support Age UK and in the musicians words “You know it’s been a year where we’ve been so far apart from each other, a lot of kids, a lot of people have not had access to music lessons this year in quite the same way. Sharing stuff like this online is just another way of sharing your music and making music together”.
A World Record Live Lesson
Jamie held a virtual piano lesson on YouTube from Metropolis Studios in Chiswick as well as bringing in remote locations live. It was up to Karma to cover Jamies’ session at the studio and crews to cover the schools. With a condensed set up at Metropolis Studios and with social distancing in place, we were able to cover Jamies wonderful set with 8 cameras, a mixture of hotheads and manned cameras as well as providing the images from the schools so that Jamie could interact with the children in real time.
A highlight of the event was when Jamie was joined by special guests including Robbie Williams and Sigrid, as he taught schoolchildren to play the Christmas carol In The Bleak Midwinter on the piano.
