LinkedIn Live Coming In 2019
LinkedIn Live has been announced as LinkedIn’s new streaming service. Whilst you can argue that LinkedIn are late to the party it is still a monumentous moment for them as the professional social network is taking on another social innovation following the launch of the stickers and frames for videos last March.
The new feature aptly named ‘LinkedIn Live’ provides the platform with its second video tool following its primative video tools back in August 2017. It comes as no surprise that LinkedIn have taken the step in increasing its video tools as the original video feature is by far and away its most engaging content option open to its members. Much like other social platforms LinkedIn Live will provide its regular members with the ability to share conferences and product announcements live.
As we all know video is fast becoming the only way to spread content and LinkedIn’s internal data has noted that its members are up to 20x more likely to share video than any other content on the professional network. The introduction of LinkedIn Live will help contribute and increase the record levels of engagement that is being experienced on the platform. The new feature will help build the already growing professional audience and LinkedIn recently reached the milestone of 610 million members.
Now whilst this is all very exciting there is a slight caveat, for the moment the live streaming feature will only be available to our friends over the pond but you can rest assured that at some point in 2019 the feature will come to our green and pleasant land. Streaming being a big part of what we do here at Karma and we are very much looking forward to getting our teeth into another streaming platform.
